Fell Pony Visit

Autumn 2019
16.10 19 Restart a Heart Day
Across the UK, there are over 30,000 cardiac arrests outside of hospital every year, but the survival rate is less than 1 in 10. Everyone in school took part in 'hands on' learning what to do if you find someone unconscious and not breathing. It all starts with calling 999.
We also had a sponsored CPR, one of the training models was given CPR from 8.30 am until 4.00 m, with everyone in school and parents given the opportunity to take part.
Joining us for the day were a team of qualified and trainee paramedics, some of whom are also parents. It was an exciting day day with everyone not only taking part but taking away new skills.
Many thanks to all involved for giving up your time to help us learn such important skills.
Class 4 Puzzle and PE Day at KSGS
Class 4 joined other year 5 and 6 pupils in our area for an exciting morning at KSGS.
The morning began puzzle solving. It was all very competitive with groups working well together to solve a puzzle before moving on to another. The groups consisted of 3 Orton Children and 3 from Warcop school. Mid morning toast was served before the children were then given taster sessions in Hockey, Netball, Football and Rugby. It rained for some of the outside activities but no ones spirits were dampened ...the teamwork continued. Thank you KSGS for inviting us.
