School Uniform

Our school uniform forms part of the Orton CE Primary school’s identity, therefore we are very proud of our uniform and we encourage the children to be smartly dressed and wear it proudly.

Please make sure that all uniform and belongs are clearly namedwe cannot stress this enough. We discourage wearing of jewellery apart from a simple watch (not smart watch) and stud earrings. All jewellery must be removed for PE, games and swimming for safety reasons.

The uniform comprises:

  • Royal blue sweatshirt, fleece or cardigan
  • Royal blue or white polo shirts
  • Plain grey or black trousers, school shorts, skirt or pinafore dress
  • Plain white, black or blue socks
  • In the Summer girls can wear a blue and white checked dress
  • Black school shoes (not trainers, slip on shoes or open toe sandals). These are to be worn as indoor shoes and will be used on visits and trips out so need to be robust enough for walking and preventing your child’s feet getting wet. In addition, children will need a pair of robust outdoor shoes e.g. trainers/ wellies to wear again these should not be slip on or open toe sandals.
  • An optional bespoke rain jacket is available from Sam Scotts

On sunny days the children are required to wear a hat for sun protection. This can be any type of sun hat but an Orton CE School cap as an option in the online shop.

For PE children will need;

  • A named bag (drawstring are the best type, one is available from our uniform supplier) containing:
  • Bespoke Orton PE T-Shirt - only available from Sam Scott’s
  • Bespoke Orton PE Shorts - only available from Sam Scott’s
  • Black pumps/ plimsolls or trainers (for outside)
  • Plain black or blue Tracksuit bottoms - An optional bespoke Orton tracksuit is available from Sam Scott’s
  • Pair of socks especially for girls who may be wearing tights during the day

Swimming kit will be needed when the children go swimming, further details will be sent out nearer the time.

Long hair will need to be tied back and all jewellery removed. Unfortunately, plasters cannot be used to cover new piercings therefore we encourage parents to take children for any ear piercings at the beginning of the Summer holidays to avoid any interference with any school activities. Children must be able to take their own earrings out for all sporting activities including swimming.
