Charlie's Church
Class 1 walked up to church this week to see Charlie...for some of the children it was their first meeting with Charlie.
Mary read us a bible story: Noah’s Ark
We all helped Charlie look for the animals then helped them get into the Ark.
Charlie told us how he used to be frightened of playing with water but said a prayer to God. Charlie then showed us how he is now not so frightened of water!
Fun on the balance bikes

Mental Health Awareness Day in Class 2
Tuesday 13th October 2020
We thought about ways to help promote good mental health.
Not particularly in this order, but spread across the morning...
- “Sleep” - we played sleeping lions as we thought we couldn’t have a nap at school!
- “Breathe” - we practised the five finger breathing technique to help us feel calm
- “Share” - we shared a story book with a friend in a cozy place!
- “Calm” - we enjoyed some ‘cosmic yoga’ to help calm our bodies!
- “Talk” - we learned some different “mood words” and played a game of mood monster to help us calm our emotions!
- “Play” - we recognised that playing with our friends brightens our mood, so we had fun running around playing games at playtime!
- “Relaxation” - we listened to some meditation music whilst doing mindful colouring of pets- we know pets calm our minds when we are feeling anxious!

Stone Age
As part of this terms' Stone Age topic Class 2 spent an informative and exciting afternoon with Ro, learning about what life was like back in the stone age.
They viewed and handled a vast variety of artifacts, especially enjoying the flint axes.
Art work, wooden bead jewellery and fire making ( using fungi and animal poo! ) were all explored during the afternoon.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff
In Class 2 we have been reading
The Three Billy Goats Gruff as part of our traditional tale topic.
The children have been showing their understanding of the sequence of events by acting out the main parts of the story. They had great fun doing so, as you can see.
